Limo Licensing ....

Let’s start with limos. There's a good chance the limo you hire for a big event or to take you to the airport is not licensed. Montgomery County's Office of Consumer Affairs discovered that half the 136 limousine firms listed in the Montgomery County Yellow pages are not licensed with the Public Service Commission. Eighty-eight percent are not licensed with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Commission, and 75 percent of firms advertising airport service were not licensed to serve BWI airport.

Montgomery County says consumers should check licenses before hiring limos. Make sure the companies are insured. Check how long the company's been in business. And get everything in writing.

Many limo services get payment in advance, which is why consumers need to make sure they're licensed. Montgomery County says when you hire a licensed limo it will be insured, and drivers will be licensed.
