A woman who pleaded guilty to stabbing a Loveland man before his business was robbed was sentenced to seven years in prison Friday.

Carrie Lynn Hoffman, 31, was sentenced in 8th Judicial District Court by Judge James Hiatt after pleading guilty Jan. 31 to second-degree assault.

Hoffman admitted stabbing the 32-year-old man in the early morning hours of Oct. 20.

She then took him to Medical Center of the Rockies, where he was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

While the man, whose name was not disclosed in police reports, was receiving medical treatment, his business, All About Limos, was broken into, and a television, computer, cash register and about $3,000 worth of other items were stolen. Some of those items were later recovered in Hoffman’s possession.

Hoffman was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree burglary and theft, but those charges were dropped after she agreed to plead guilty to second-degree assault.
